Trend with Temperature

4.1.3       Performance Issues Under Study

The Calorimeter Assembly and Test program at NRL is well underway, and a very large set of calibration and functional test data has been collected on flight Modules FM101 through FM108.  These data sets include a sequence of CPTs, LPTs, DAC calibrations, charge-injection calibrations, and muon calibrations, as well as specialized studies with the Modules in specific test configurations.

Routine analysis of the functional test and calibration data is performed by on-line scripts and off-line software (both in root and IDL).  Inspection of the routine test reports and monitoring of the test and calibration runs have revealed some performance issues or idiosyncrasies that are now under ongoing study.  These issues will suggest approaches to calibration and operation sequences for system testing and LAT mission operations.

The current version of the Issues list is captured in LAT-TD-05365

5         Unit Support Data

5.1        Telemetry Calibration Curves

Calibration curves shall be provided for all telemetry.  For telemetry that is affected by temperature, calibration curves shall be provided over temperature.  For telemetry that is affected by vacuum, calibration curves shall be provided from vacuum test.  Calibration curves based on part# are acceptable for thermistors.

5.2        Science Verification and Calibration

FM102 SVAC calibration was performed with calibGenCAL version v3r5.

5.6        On-line Configuration

A number of tables are used by on-line software to configure the CAL Module.  Apart from the schema, these tables comprise the characterizations or calibrations required to configure the CAL at the time of shipment.

The complete set of configuration and calibration tables is contained in the .zip archive FM102_OnlineFiles_050429.zip

6         Shipping documentation

The LAT calorimeter modules shall be shipped to Stanford University with an accompanying DD1149 shipping invoice listing the Flight Module, accompanying hardware, and paperwork.  A copy of this invoice shall be signed by the authorized SLAC official and returned to NRL.  A copy of the accompanying Work Order Authorization form describing the receipt, unpacking, and successful testing of the Flight Module upon delivery to SLAC shall also be signed by the appropriate SLAC official and returned to NRL.
